Bangladesh has become one of the most popular places to build custom software, and the first question every founder asks is the same: how much will it cost? The honest answer is "it depends" — but it depends on a small number of things you can understand and control.

The five things that decide your budget

  • Scope: the number of screens, user roles, integrations and business rules. Scope is the biggest lever by far.
  • Complexity: real-time features, payments, AI, compliance (HIPAA, PCI-DSS) and heavy data work cost more than simple CRUD.
  • Platforms: one responsive web app costs less than a web app plus native iOS and Android apps.
  • Team shape: a single full-stack engineer, a pod with design and QA, or a dedicated cross-functional team.
  • Support after launch: hosting, monitoring, security patches and new features are an ongoing line item, not a one-off.

Typical budget bands

These are the bands we use when clients fill in our project brief. They are ranges, not price lists — the scope always decides.

  • Under $5k: landing pages, prototypes, small automations and integrations.
  • $5k–$15k: an MVP web app with a focused feature set, or a polished marketing site with a CMS.
  • $15k–$50k: a production SaaS or mobile app with several roles, payments and an admin panel.
  • $50k–$150k: multi-platform products, AI features, complex integrations or regulated domains.
  • $150k and up: enterprise platforms, long-running dedicated teams and multi-year roadmaps.

Fixed price or dedicated team?

Fixed-price projects work when the scope is clear and unlikely to change — you know the cost up front. A dedicated team (billed monthly) works better for products that evolve every week, because you can change priorities without renegotiating a contract. Many clients start fixed-price for an MVP, then move to a dedicated team once the product finds users.

How to keep your project on budget

  • Start with a paid discovery phase. One or two weeks of scoping saves months of rework.
  • Ship an MVP first. Launch the smallest version that proves value, then grow it with real feedback.
  • Own your code. Make sure your contract transfers 100% of the source code and infrastructure to you — no lock-in, no licence fees.
  • Ask for weekly demos. Seeing working software every week is the best early-warning system for a project drifting off course.
The cheapest quote is rarely the cheapest project. Rework, missed deadlines and lock-in are where budgets really go.
